Westmont Car Wash

I like to give free plugs to local businesses when they deserve it. I brought Jeanne’s car to the Westmont Car Wash on MacArthur Blvd (just off Cuthbert) and couldn’t believe how great the deal was. For $9.58 (including tax, but not tip) you get the full service car wash which includes a trip through the automatic car wash, tire cleaning, inside vacuumed, dash wiped down, inside windows cleaned, and the outside hand dried. The whole thing takes less than 10 minutes. I brought my car back there two days later and got the same service.

It’s not even worth cleaning your own car if you live nearby.

Awesome Basket

Check out this ridiculous shot.

Battlestar Galactica

When I was a kid I loved the show Battlestar Galactica, so I’ve been rewatching it on DVD. The show holds up pretty well, although some of the plots are really thin and the lead, Apollo played by Richard Hatch, makes me wonder who the heck cast him. Dirk Benedict (Face from the A-Team) as Lieutenant Starbuck is great as well as Lorne Greene as Commander Adama.

My favorite character by far is Lucifer the Cylon, who is the second in command of the ship in pursuit of Battlestar Galactica. His tiny head is made up of a piece of flashing rope lighting and I crack up every time he’s on screen.

Has anyone seen the remake? Is it any good?

A Dad for a Week

So far being a Dad is great and Sasha is now a week old. Every day after work I can’t wait to come home and see her. Look how big she’s getting already!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Bought a Macbook

I picked up this Macbook on craigslist. Check out the stats.

Apple MacBook
2.0 Ghz Intel Core Duo
60GB HD
1GB RAM
13.3″ HD Widescreen
8 months left of Apple Care

So far it’s great. This is not only the first Mac I’ve ever owned, it’s the first laptop.

Bank of America and MBNA: First comes marriage, then comes unintentional hilarity

Bank of America and MBNA merged, so their executives threw together a meeting to pump up their employees, which included this Office-esque version of U2′s One. If you can sit through the whole thing I’ll give you credit.

More about this story here. First seen on boingboing.

Bad Week for the Eagles

First McNabb goes down for the season on a fluke ACL injury.

Now, Andre Waters, one of my favorite players from the Buddy Ryan era, committed suicide.

Bob Barker Retires

The Price is Right without Bob Barker? Say it ain’t so!

Whoever takes his place should definitely have to keep that skinny microphone. So who should be the next host on the Price is Right? My vote is Rob from the Treehouse.

Index Card Art

One thing I was into ten years ago was drawing on index cards. I used to carry them around in my CD case all the time. I thought I lost them until my mom dug them out the other day. I’ve posted the best of them and I’ll try to feature them here once and a while. I made them with black pens and various highlighters.
